AFTER THE GREAT WAR, APPOINTMENT OF CLUB PROFESSIONAL
Shortly after the Great War the Club's first Professional, Tom Reekie was appointed

1960, MISS HELEN OCKLEFORD'S CONTRIBUTION TO JUNIOR SPORT
The 1960s saw greater emphasis placed on young golfers and tennis players driven by the enthusiasm of Miss Helen Ockleford

Under Mr Burns' leadership a £4K bank loan was approved for the development of nine all weather tennis courts
1962, AMALGAMATION OF THE GOLF HOUSE CLUB AND SPORTS CLUB
Formation of the Committee of Management under the guidance of the appointed Convenor, local farmer Andrew Burns

Originally sited by the 9th tee, it subsequently moved to its current position for safety reasons
1963, THE FIRST DRIVING RANGE
In 1963, the original tin-hole pitch & putt course (known as the 'Children's Course') was replaced by a driving range

Two years later by overwhelming demand the golf course was restored to its original length
1966, EXPERIMENTS WITH THE GOLF COURSE
In 1966 a experiment to convert the golf course to a nine hole Par 3 course did not receive the support of members

Accepting the offer of Miss Lavinia Baird, the Sports Club purchased the land for £26K acquiring title in 1974
1973, PURCHASE OF THE LAND

1974, ELIE SPORTS CLUB AS AN INDEPENDENT BODY
As a consequence of grants received, Elie Sports Club became an independent body from The Golf House Club, with its own Constitution
1981, RETIREMENT OF JOHN REEKIE AS CLUB PROFESSIONAL
Having followed his father Tom Reekie in the role as Club Professional, John Reekie retired ending the Reekie's long commitment to coaching and the development of golf and golfers at Elie
1982, NUMBER OF TENNIS COURTS REDUCED
In 1982 the number of tennis courts reduced to five, with three short courts being added to replace the loss of four full size courts
2000, BAIRD COURSE IRRIGATION SYSTEM
A full irrigation system to help support and improve the condition of the Baird Course was introduced
These courts were re-surfaced again in 2022 to maintain the quality of playing surface
2001, THREE 'FRONT' COURTS RE-SURFACED
In 2001, a new astro surface was introduced and improved the playing surfaces of the three front tennis courts

2002, THE DRIVING RANGE
With the support of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, 2002 saw the introduction of a covered driving range
Funded in the most part by the generous support of members and the LTA Foundation
2024, THE MODERN SPORT OF PADEL INTRODUCED TO ELIE SPORTS CLUB
The construction of two padel courts introduced a modern sport to the traditional facilities of Elie Sports Club
